The Pipework Behind the Finish

Most of our plumbing work happens as part of something bigger — a bathroom being replaced, a kitchen being fitted, a radiator moving because the room layout has changed, or pipework being rerouted while the floor is up and the walls are open.

Doing it alongside the boarding, plastering and decorating means the pipe runs are planned before anything is closed in, and the making good afterwards is our job rather than yours to arrange separately.

What We Take On

Domestic plumbing linked to renovation, repair and improvement work.

01

Repairs

Dripping taps, running toilets, failed valves, waste blockages and the small jobs that are hard to get anyone out for.

02

Leaks & Pipework

Leaks traced and repaired, old pipework replaced, and runs rerouted or boxed in during renovation work.

03

Bathroom Plumbing

Suites removed and installed, showers, basins, baths and waste runs — see our bathroom installations page for the full fit-out.

04

Kitchen Plumbing

Sinks, taps, appliance connections and waste, fitted alongside the units during a kitchen installation.

05

Radiators

Radiators moved, swapped or refitted when a room layout changes or a wall is being freed up for furniture.

06

Refurbishment Plumbing

First and second fix plumbing on larger refurbishments, sequenced with the rest of the trades on site.

Being Straight With You

Where Plumbing Stops and Gas Begins

Plenty of what people call plumbing is not plumbing at all. Anything involving the gas supply — boilers, gas hobs, gas fires, the pipework feeding them — is legally restricted to Gas Safe registered engineers, and no amount of general plumbing experience changes that.

So if your job involves gas, we will tell you and get the right person in rather than have a go. What we handle is the water side: repairs, leaks, pipework, radiators, and the bathroom and kitchen plumbing that comes with renovation work.

  • Water side handled in-house
  • Gas work to Gas Safe engineers
  • Straight answer at quote stage
  • Pipe runs planned before boarding
  • Making good included
  • No guessing behind the plaster
Worth Knowing

Three Things That Save You Money Later

None of these cost much now. All of them cost a lot when something goes wrong at midnight.

Find It Now

Know Where Your Stopcock Is

Usually under the kitchen sink, sometimes in a downstairs cupboard or the garage. Find it before you need it, check it actually turns, and make sure everyone in the house knows. It is the difference between a wet floor and a wet ceiling.

Ask For Them

Isolation Valves

Small valves on the feeds to taps, toilets and appliances mean a future repair takes ten minutes instead of draining the system. They cost very little when the pipework is already exposed.

Decide Early

Where the Radiators Go

Radiator positions are set by pipework under the floor. Moving one after the flooring is down and the room is decorated is a far bigger job than deciding at first fix, so think about furniture layout early.

Common Questions

Plumbing FAQs

The questions we get asked most about plumbing work.

Do you work on boilers or anything gas?

Gas work has to be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer — that includes boilers, gas hobs, gas fires and the pipework serving them. If your job involves gas we will say so and arrange the right person rather than attempting it. Everything on the water side we handle ourselves.

Do you do emergency call-outs?

We are not a 24-hour emergency service. The phone is answered from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, and we will get to urgent jobs as quickly as we can — but if water is pouring through a ceiling at 3am, turn the stopcock off and call a dedicated emergency plumber. We would rather tell you that than leave you waiting.

Can you move a radiator?

Usually, yes. How straightforward it is depends on where the pipework runs and whether the floor can be lifted. It is far easier during a renovation when floors are already up, so if you are planning other work, get the radiators moved at the same time rather than as a separate job later.

I have a leak but cannot see where from — can you find it?

Often. Water travels along joists and pipes before it appears, so the wet patch is rarely above the leak. Finding it may mean lifting a board or opening a small section of ceiling — which we then make good, since we plaster and decorate too. Turn the stopcock off in the meantime.

Can you do the plumbing for a new bathroom or kitchen?

Yes, and usually the whole room. Most of our plumbing comes as part of a bathroom or kitchen fit-out, which means the plumbing, tiling, plastering and decorating are all handled together instead of you booking four firms and hoping the dates line up.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Basildon and work across Essex within roughly a 30-mile radius, including Wickford, Billericay, Rayleigh, Benfleet, Brentwood, Canvey Island, Hadleigh, Pitsea, Laindon, Vange, Stanford-le-Hope, Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea. Give Ben a call with your postcode.
