You Do Not Have to Move Out
Most of our renovation customers stay in the house while the work happens, and it is manageable as long as it is planned that way. That usually means working through the property in phases rather than opening up every room at once, keeping one bathroom and a working kitchen for as long as possible, and sheeting and cleaning down at the end of each day rather than at the end of the job.
It is worth being realistic though. Plastering is dusty, floors get lifted, and there will be days without a kitchen sink. What makes it bearable is knowing in advance which days those are, which is exactly what the quote and the order of works should tell you.

Home Renovation FAQs
The questions worth asking before renovation work starts.
Where should we start if the whole house needs doing?
Anything structural or layout-changing first, then services, then finishes — and within that, the rooms you use most. If money is staged over time, it is usually better to finish one room completely than to half-do three, both for living with it and because part-finished work often needs disturbing again.
Can we stay in the house while you work?
Almost always, yes. We work in phases rather than opening every room at once, keep a bathroom and kitchen usable as long as possible, and sheet up and clean down daily. There will be some disruption — plastering is dusty and there may be days without a sink — but you will know which days those are in advance.
Do you take on single rooms or only whole houses?
Both. Plenty of our work is one room at a time, and plenty of customers do a room now and another later. Small repairs and improvements are worth bundling into one visit rather than calling someone out for each — it works out cheaper and makes the trip worth making.
Will you tell us if something is not worth doing?
Yes. Sometimes existing kitchen units are sound and only need doors and worktops. Sometimes a wall is better skimmed than boarded. And occasionally what you are describing is a symptom of something else that needs sorting first. You will get a straight answer at the quote stage, including when it means less work for us.
How long does a renovation take?
A single room is usually days to a couple of weeks depending on the trades involved. A full house is a longer project and depends heavily on how much structural work is involved and how quickly materials arrive. Plaster drying time is fixed and cannot be rushed, so it gets built into the programme rather than squeezed.
