ARTEXING, COVING, TAPE & JOINTING
BROKEN SCROLL ARTEX PATTERN
ARTEXING
Artexing is a mid-20th-century technique using gypsum plaster to create textured wall or ceiling patterns.
With 30+ years of experience in Basildon and Essex, it’s clear Artexing was once extremely popular in Britain.
The Artex boom began in the 1960s and faded by the early 1990s.
Its appeal was clear: an easy way to decorate surfaces with unique and detailed textures.
Popular in 1960s–1970s interiors, it added character and depth to otherwise plain ceilings and walls.
Though less trendy now, Artexing still carries nostalgic charm for many homeowners.
It occasionally appears in modern homes, blending vintage style with contemporary design preferences.
